Real-time utilization
Bandwidth utilization is available on the home screen, and updates every 3 to 5 seconds. The graph is proportional to the ‘calibrated’ speed, which the smart.server performs periodically. The end user can customize the app to send an alert when bandwidth utilization exceeds a certain threshold. In this case, the colors of the graph will change to indicate
congestion.
Health Check
A health check runs periodically to evaluate both LAN
and WAN performance. The health indicator takes into consideration MTU, Latency, Jitter, and congestion.
The network vitals are attached to any support ticket opened through the app 🙂.
Network Discovery
smart.network is the only router in the industry, that offers a granular view of devices, and specific services running on the network. Users can control individual services such as setting Dropbox upload speed, or Netflix viewing resolution. smart.alerts allow parents to receive notifications when teens engage in a specific activity, either at a category level, e.g. video streaming, or service level, e.g. Hulu.

Data Consumption
Many ISPs offer internet in a metered way, or with certain ‘hog’ limits. The month-to-date utilization counter, gives users a clear indication of where they are relative to their limit, and also provides a gauge on their utilization.
This is useful information to allow the subscriber to stay within the data limits, but also to have a more intelligent conversation about consumption and whether or not their utilization justifies an upgrade.
